Certificates can be customized at a global level or per course. You can find instructions for both of these processes below, along with a description of the design elements you can customize.

You can customize the certificate design at a global level, to be used across all courses.

Step 1: Select the settings icon in the bottom left of your sidebar.

Step 2: Select ‘Customize’.

Step 3: Select ‘Certificate design’ from the menu at the top of the screen.

Step 4: Make any adjustments you’d like to the certificate design. You can change the layout, background, font, and font color using the dropdown menus. If you would like to swap out the logo that appears on your certificate simply click on it. You can also edit the logo here. Similarly, if you click on any of the elements such as Learner name, Course name, or Date issued, you can choose to hide these. If you click on ‘Certificate of completion’, the option is also available to edit the text that appears.

You may wish to customize your certificates for each course. You can customize the certificate on a course level by overriding the course finish screen. Follow these steps:

Step 1: Navigate into the course you would like to customize a certificate for.

Step 2: Select the Finish screen. You will find this button at the bottom of the sidebar.

Step 3: Hover over the certificate in the top right of your screen and select the ‘Edit’ icon.

Step 4: Select ‘Override’ at the bottom of the screen to change the certificate for this course instance.

Step 5: You’ll now be able to edit the certificate for this specific course. If you would like to apply this certificate to other courses, you can choose “Save as template” at the bottom of your screen. This will add the certificate design to your certificate templates, and you can select it when customizing a certificate for another course.

You can customize the following design elements:

Choose for the text to be left aligned, centered, or right aligned.

Choose a background image for your certificate. You can upload a custom background here as well to ensure that your certificate represents your brand.

Select from nine fonts.

Determine the font color for your certificate by choosing from black or white, or entering the hex code. Be mindful of your background image when determining your font color.
