To duplicate or copy a Course, follow these steps:

Step 1: Select the three dots on the Course card of the course you wish to duplicate and click 'Duplicate course'.

Step 2: Select how and where you would like to duplicate your Course. You will be presented with the following options. Here, you can enter a name for your new copy of the Course. We will explain the different between Copying and Linking below in detail.

Step 3: To finalize the duplication, select 'Duplicate course'. You will then be able to see the copy of your Course in your Workspace.

What's the difference between 'Copy all resources' and 'Link all resources'?

Resources refers to the Lessons, Quizzes and Assignments that sit within the Course. Your choice here will have implications for editing and updating content within those resources into the future.

Copy all resources

Copying an existing module creates an exact copy of the module in your Workspace. Editing this module won't affect the original module. We strongly recommend that in most instances, 'Copy all resources' is the best option, as then your content can be easily updated in each instance without worrying about flow-on effects to other Courses.

If you are a Trainer with the appropriate level of permission across multiple Workspaces, you can duplicate Courses between Workspaces and copy all resources.

Note: Copying creates an unpublished copy. You must publish the module before it will be visible in your course.

Link all resources

Linking modules means that one version of each module within the Course exists, and any changes made in the module will be reflected across both the Courses.

For example, if you have a course called 'Travel Policy' and you duplicate the course, creating a second course called 'Travel Policy (Copy)', and you choose to 'Link all resources', all the modules (Lessons, Assignments, Quizzes) that currently exist in 'Travel Policy' will also exist in 'Travel Policy (Copy)'. Any changes you make to these existing modules in either course will be reflected in the other one.

You can only link resources within a single Workspace.

Note: Linking creates an unpublished copy. You must publish the module before it will be visible in your course.
