If you want to roll-out existing content out to your learners quickly whilst using Coassemble’s LMS features, you can embed Powerpoints into your lessons using Google Drive.

Embed Existing Powerpoints

There are two ways to embed powerpoints in Coassemble:

  1. In Lesson templates via the WYSIWYG editor (follow steps 1-8)

  2. In the Document Upload Module (follow steps 9 -10)

Embedding Powerpoints in Lesson Templates

Step 1: If you haven’t already, you will need to first upload your existing PowerPoint to Google Slides.

Step 2: From the Google Slides homepage, select the PowerPoint you wish to share.

Step 3: Next, you will need to change the access to the file. To do so, click the yellow ‘Share’ button. To ensure all your learners can access your file, change the access to ‘Anyone with the link’.

Step 4: After you’ve changed this, copy the URL link provided. If you want your PowerPoint to be displayed in:

Step 5: Open Coassemble and navigate to the lesson you want to embed the PowerPoint into.

Note: When embedding a PowerPoint with the WYSIWYG editor, it is best displayed in the text and image template, however, you can embed it in any template that uses the WYSIWYG editor.

Step 6: In the WYSIWYG editor, click on the ‘Insert Embeddable Content’ button. Paste the URL in the pop-up box, and click the ‘Insert’ button.

Step 7: Once inserted, the powerpoint will appear in the text box. You can choose to add additional text (i.e. a description).

Step 8: Once you are finished making changes, don’t forget to save your work by clicking the blue ‘Save’ button at the bottom of the page.

Embedding Powerpoints in the Document Upload Module

Step 9: Open Coassemble and navigate to the course you want to embed the powerpoint in. Click the ‘Add new module’ button, then select the ‘Document’ module.

Step 10: A pop-up will prompt you to add the document you wish to upload (your powerpoint), and input a name for the module. If you want your learners to be able to view the powerpoint in Coassemble, select the ‘Inline’ view type. Once you're finished, select the blue checkmark button to save your changes.

Step 11: You can preview the page to see the final result with the ‘Preview’ button.
