What does it mean to publish in Coassemble?

In Coassemble, the content inside a Course which is made up of Course modules, needs to be published in order for them to be visible to your learners. When you create a new Lesson, Quiz, or Assignment in a Course, they will be saved as a draft. If a module has not been published, it will not be visible to learners viewing the Course.

After a module has been published, it will become visible to learners, and any changes made thereafter will be stored in a draft copy of the module. These changes are not visible to learners until you publish them.

How to publish Course modules

To publish the modules inside a Course, click on the Publish at the top right-hand-corner of the screen. A pop-up will appear listing all of the modules that have unpublished changes. You can select all modules from the list, or select them individually.

After you've made your selection, you can either publish the changes for the modules selected, or revert the changes. Clicking the revert button will revert the module back to the last published version. If you choose to Publish changes, the live version visible to learners will be updated. You cannot revert this change once it's made.

How do I know if there are changes to be published?

There are a number of indicators letting you know if your course content has unpublished changes in it. They are as follows:

  1. The Publish button on the top-right-hand corner of the screen will become active with a bright yellow publish icon on it.

  2. Any modules that have unpublished changes in it, will have an 'Unpublished changes' message underneath the module title

  3. Any screens or questions that have unpublished changes will have a little yellow dot next to the screen or question title.

Once you have published all of your changes, these indicators will disappear.
