There are several different ways to upload a document in Coassemble.
Document screen
Embed screen
Text editor
Document screen
The document screen is one of our standard screens that can be found under our lesson module (ideal if you have the document file on your computer). Simply drag your document in the allotted space, then decide if you'd like it to be displayed inline, or as a download link. You can see this in action below.
Embed screen
The embed screen is another one of our standard screens that can be found under our lesson module (ideal if you have the document file uploaded in the cloud). In GoogleDrive for example, you'll just need to make sure that your sharing settings are set so that ‘Anyone with the link’ can access (essentially you want to make sure the learners will be able to view the document). Then, decide whether learners should be able to view or edit the document:
View/presentation format: copy the URL from the URL bar and tweak the end of the URL. So let's say your URL is:
https://docs.google.com/document/something/edit?usp=sharing
You can replace the last bit of the URL by 'preview':
https://docs.google.com/document/something/previewEdit format: copy the URL from the Share settings, as is.
Text editor
You can upload and link to a file using our inline text editor, anywhere in your course where there is a body of text (ideal if you want learners to download the file/consult at a later time). Simply select the file option, then drag your file in the allotted space.
The document name will display in line next to a file icon, but you can edit it anytime. Learners will be able to click and and download that file (see below). When learners click on the file, it will open up on a new tab.
You could also use the embed option from our text editor and follow the instructions for embedding documents from above.
