Overview

There are many reasons you may want to mark a course, or a course module as complete. These include:

Recognition of Prior Learning: For learners who already possess knowledge or skills in a particular subject, the ability to mark a course, or part of a course as complete serves as a means of recognition for their prior learning.

Part of a course taken offline: In some cases, learners may have attended a portion of a course through an external provider or participated in workshops or seminars related to the subject matter. By marking individual course modules as complete, learners can maintain a comprehensive record of their educational journey, regardless of the source.

Transitioning from another LMS: With the ability to mark a course as complete, you can seamlessly transition from another LMS to Coassemble without losing learner progress. This interoperability enhances your learners' experience and minimizes disruptions during the transition period.

How to mark a course or module as complete

To get started, head over to the Users page, and from the Learners tab, select the learner you want make changes for.

Clicking the learner name brings up the learners profile listing all of the courses they are enrolled in. Courses are organised by their progress status; To do, In progress, and Completed.

Any course in with a status of 'To do' or 'In progress', can be marked as complete. To do so, simply hover your mouse over the course row, and select the 'Mark as complete' button. This brings up the Mark as complete modal where you can see details of the course, including a list of all of the modules in that course.

You can choose to mark the entire course as complete by selecting the 'Complete all modules' toggle. You can mark an individual module as complete by toggling the associated switch ON. Note that modules that have already been completed by a learner will appear disabled.

After choosing which modules to mark as complete, click the 'Mark complete' button, and confirm the change. Once you mark the course modules as complete there is no way to reverse this change, so make sure to double check you've made the right selection.

If a you are marking a quiz or Assignment module as complete, the learner will automatically be given a grade of 100%.

โ€‹Access to the functionality relies on the global Enrol permission, this is included by default with the standard Facilitator, Manager, and Administrator roles.
