Many of the Screen types available in the Course creation process, were designed to encourage your learners to interact with the screen to discover or reveal content in your Lessons. This allows you to ‘chunk’ concepts, which improves learner retention and reduces cognitive load.

One problem this can cause is that your learners could lose track of where they’re up to, or skip the content entirely; they may not open a particular section, or not read a step within a process. To solve this problem, Coassemble provides Progress markers that are displayed on all Screens with individual elements. These help learners keep track of where they are up to. Progress markers are displayed visually as empty checkboxes that appear checked off as the learner works through each element. You can view these in action below.

In addition to helping learners keep track of their progress through a Screen, Progress markers can also be used to force a learner to view all of the content on the Screen for it to be marked as complete.

Configuring Progress markers

By default, Progress markers will be switched on for your Workspace, including the setting for enforcing completion. To change the configuration of Progress markers, go to the Workspace settings page by clicking the Cettings cog on the bottom left-hand corner of the screen.

Then navigate to the ‘Course module’ tab.
