What is the Wheel Template?

The Wheel template provides a fun and engaging way to turn content into bite-size pieces for easier digestion. This template can be used to turn extended lists like a glossary, policies, ideas, and concepts into an interactive lesson.

How do I use the Wheel Template?

Step 1: Select the Wheel Template from the Presentation template panel.

Step 2: Drag the Wheel Template into the Lesson Pathway. You will be prompted to give your new screen a title.

Step 3: Click the ‘Edit’ button

Step 4: From the edit screen, you can choose to add a sub-topic number (optional), edit the title of the screen, add a description (optional) and instructor’s tip (optional).

Note: A description will appear under the title if you choose to use one.

Step 5: To begin creating a wheel, select the ‘Add New Item’ button.

Step 6: The ‘Creating new slice’ box will pop up in your edit screen. For each wheel segment, you can add a title (which will be displayed within the wheel), pick a colour for the segment, and add a description, which will be displayed when the label is selected.

Step 7: When you’re finished adding text, select the blue checkmark to save your changes.

Step 8: To finish your wheel, simply repeat the process to add additional wheel segments. You will need a minimum of 4 wheel segments and can have a maximum number of 12 wheel segments.

You can re-order each item by using the drag and drop handles on the left. The order they’re displayed in the Content Editor is the order it will be displayed to learners.

Step 9: To preview your interactive wheel, click on the ‘preview’ icon.
