In Coassemble, you can upload audio in two ways:

  • Using the Instructor's tip function.

  • Inline anywhere that has the text editor

Let's walk you through these two methods.

Using the Instructor's tip

The Instructor's tip is the perfect place for audio narration on each screen.

Step 1: Click on 'Advanced screen settings' in the bottom right-hand corner.

Step 2: Select 'Instructor's tip'

Step 3: Drag and drop or browse for your audio file. You can adjust settings here like whether the instructor's tip automatically displays, whether the audio will autoplay as the learner lands on the screen, and what text will appear alongside the audio in Instructor's tip.

Step 4: Select 'Save changes' once you have uploaded your file and decided on these settings.

Step 5: Preview your screen with the instructor's tip.

Watch these steps in action below.

Uploading audio inline

You can audio inline in any section of the Course with a text editor. For example, you may choose to add audio narration to your Course overview. As this isn't a screen with an Instructor's tip, you'll want to add this inline.

Similarly, you may have instances of Quiz questions or Assignment questions that require the learner to listen to audio before responding to a task. You can choose to add audio clips inline in this instance as well.

View the process for adding audio inline in full in the clip below. Scroll down to view the individual steps.

Step 1: Navigate to the location where you wish to add audio. Once in the editing screen, select the audio icon in the text editor toolbar.

Step 2: A pop-up window will appear, then click ‘Drop Audio (or click)’ to browse your device for an audio file.

Step 3: You can select 'browse files'. Once you've found your file click ‘OK’. This uploads the file to the Coassemble servers. Alternatively, you can drag and drop your audio file to begin the upload process (as shown below).

Step 4: Similarly to text, you can choose how you'd like your audio file to be aligned. You can choose from center, left, or right alignment.
