In Coassemble, there are two types of trainers:

  • Workspace trainer (their role & permissions apply to the entire workspace)
  • Group trainer (their role & permission apply to the group they are attached to)

Trainers can be given different roles and permissions depending on the level of access you want them to have and what you want them to be able to do. To make sure you are selecting the correct role and permission, check out this article first.

How to add a workspace trainer

  1. Click the Users section in the side navigation bar.
  2. Click the Trainers tab.
  3. Click the Create trainer button.
  4. Enter the email address of the trainer, hit Enter on your keyboard, and click the Next button.
    💡 You can also bulk enroll trainers, by copy pasting a list of emails (as long as each email is on a separate row), or manually add multiple trainers by pressing the space bar in between each one.
  5. Select the appropriate role for the trainer (see this article for a detailed explanation of what each role does).
  6. Click the Create trainer button.
  7. An invite email will be sent to the trainer straight away so they access your workspace.

How to add a group trainer

You can assign a trainer to a group from the Users page, or from inside a course. For more information about groups, see this article.

Adding a trainer to a group from the Users section

You must first add a trainer to your workspace before adding them to a group (see previous section).

  1. From the Users section, click the Groups tab.
    💡 You can also add a trainer to a group, from the Enrollment section inside a course.
  2. Click the + sign under the TRAINERS column to add trainer(s).
  3. Select the trainer(s) you'd like to add to the group and click the Next button.
  4. Select trainer permission for this group (Teach or Teach + Enroll), then click Confirm.

You can add new or existing trainers to a group using this method.

  1. Go in any course your group is enrolled to, and click on the Enrollment button.
  2. Scroll down and click on a specific group.
  3. If the trainer was already added to your workspace, type in the trainer email in the + Add existing Faciliator field, then Enter.
  4. If they are not a trainer yet, click on the + Add facilitators button.
  5. Click on the Add new users button.
  6. Enter the email address of the trainer, click on the + Add button, and the Add users button.

  7. Click the OK button from the pop up window.
  8. Click on the + Add facilitators button.
  9. You can refresh your page if you don't see the new trainer yet, and tick the enroll permission if you need to.
