Zapier can help you improve your workflow. Here's how to integrate it with your Coassemble account, and some ways you can use Zapier to increase your productivity.
What is Zapier?
Zapier is an application that allows web applications to talk to each other. With Zapier, you can connect two applications that don't usually integrate with one another.
Zapier links to a heap of apps that you probably use, from Gmail, to Google Drive, to Mailchimp, to Trello, Asana, Salesforce and Slack.
So why is connecting my applications a good thing?
Because once your applications are connected, you can set up automated workflows that save you time and effort. Zapier basically works on a trigger and action mechanism - when a trigger happens in one app, Zapier makes sure an action happens in another app. For example, when a user completes a Coassemble Course (this is the trigger), you may want to send them a certificate via WebMerge (this is the action). This trigger-action process is called a 'Zap'. Zaps can turn your manual tasks into automated ones.
How can I create my own Zaps?
Simply go to the Zapier website and sign up for an account. Once you've done that, go to your Zapier dashboard and click 'Make a Zap'. Next, choose your 'trigger' - this is the event you want to respond to (in the example above, this would be a user completing a certain Course). Then, choose your 'action' - this is the automated response that you want to your trigger (in the example above, this would be sending a certificate via WebMerge). You'll need to provide the credentials of your applications so that Zapier can connect to them - for Coassemble, you'll need to provide your domain name, for example.

How can I use Zapier?
The opportunities for using Zapier are endless. Here are a few to get you thinking:
Zapier connects to most email providers, meaning that you can use Zapier to send out automated emails to Participants. For example, you may want to send out an email to employees who sign up to Coassemble that tells them what Courses you'd like them to complete. In the past, you would have had to do this manually. With Zapier, you can simply make a Zap that tells Zapier to send an automated Gmail to users who have just logged into Coassemble for the first time.
If you're using Coassemble for compliance training, you may want to keep track of which employees have completed which Courses. Whilst you can see this via LMS Analytics, you may also want to keep your own records. Say, for example, you have a Health & Safety Course, a Social Media Policy Course, and a Workplace Conduct Course. You can use Zapier to link Coassemble to a GSheet, and automatically record when an employee finishes each of those Courses. If you need to quickly see which employees have yet to complete all three Courses, you can just log into your GSheet.
Zapier can also be used in more unorthodox ways, such as driving staff training. One way to increase training completion rates is to let staff members know when their colleagues have completed an important Course or Quiz. Being told that other staff have completed training when they haven't will push employees to keep up and complete their own tasks. To do this, you could set up Zapier to send a notification via Gmail or Slack to relevant staff everytime another staff member completes a Course.
